  Located in a secluded area of the ancient Epping Forest. Complementing the famous forest is a multitude of nearby historical sites. Chingford boasts the Queen Elizabeth Hunting Lodge from when the area was the Tudors hunting patch! The old market town of Waltham Abbey dates back to 1035. Even older are the Iron Age hill fort settlements of Ambresbury Banks and Loughton Camp, which both lie within the forest itself. The Hotel is on the Central Line Tube - Stop is South Woodford. Away from the County the centre of London is just 20km either by fast rail or tube links, ideal for theatres, shopping and all the well known attractions. To the east of London is the Docklands with its financial heart at Canary Wharf and onwards to Bank. For the business traveller or delegate the M11 and M25 are just minutes away and 2 airports, London Stansted and London City, are also within easy reach.  
     
  How to get there    
     
  From the M25 (Junction 27) take the M11 southbound. At the end of the M11, take the right hand exit onto the A406 (North Circular) towards the West End. Keeping to the left hand lane, take the first exit left towards Woodford. At the roundabout, take the right hand lane and the third exit A104 to Woodford Green / Epping Forest. Approx, 300 yards from the roundabout, immediately after the petrol station, take the first turning left into Oak Hill. The Hotel is 150 yards on the right.
