This traditionally designed hotel is situated amidst the grounds of the royal palace against a historical background between pagodas dating back to the 11th century and lies right on the banks of the Ayeyarwaddy River. It provides the ideal place for watching the sunset in River View Garden, an old park with old trees and a teak wood plantation. Gawdawpalin pagoda is about 50 m away, whilst the archaeological museum is 200 m away, Thatpyinnya pagoda is 400 m away, the Royal Palace is 500 m away, Ananda pagoda and shops are 1 km away. Air Mandalay flies to Rakhine in about 50 minutes.The rooms are situated on the ground floor and built with teakwood and Bagan style red bricks. The furnishings are teakwood and 40 of the rooms comprise a terrace. The en suite rooms come equipped with a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/ cable TV, a stereo, a safe and radio. A king-size bed, a minibar, a tea/coffee maker (complimentary tea and coffee) as well as a double bed are also provided. The air conditioning is individually adjustable.

This small hotel was built 30 years ago and was transformed in 1996 to the air-conditioned club resort it is today. Renovated in 2004, this hotel has a total of 117 rooms spread across two neighbouring buildings with 3 floors, of which 4 are wheelchair accessible and 37 are suites. Many films have been shot in the hotel garden. Amongst the facilities count a foyer with 24-hour reception desk and a safe. This designer hotel comprises a kiosk, 2 shops, a hairdressing salon, an auditorium, a games room, a TV room, 3 conference rooms (capacity of up to 400 people) and public Internet access. Three breakfast rooms, a café, two bars and four restaurants are also to be found in the hotel. The best season is from October to March, and from June to September. Check-in is from 1 pm, check-out until 11 am. Later check out is available on request and depending on room availability.

Follow the main road to Old Bagan from the airport. Between the Gawdawpolin pagoda and the archaeological museum a small road turns off on the right to the hotel, which looks like an old monastery hidden by many trees. A taxi covers the distance from the boat's docking place to the hotel. From Chiang Mai there are two direct flights to Bagan a week with a short stopover in Mandalay. From Bagan there is a direct flight to Ngapali beach almost daily.
